Becca Cummings is a senior on Hamilton’s Volleyball Team. She has been a major contributor to their successful seasons for the past two years and is excited to continue her athletic career after high school! Samantha Hoeksema, junior, says of Cummings, “I’m so grateful that I got to spend 2 amazing seasons with Becca. She is so encouraging and has done so much for our team! Becca has energy that will light up the court! For that, I will always be thankful that I had her, not only as a teammate, but also as a friend.”

What school are you committed to? Why this school?
St. Ambrose University. I decided to go to this school because it’s in a smaller city and not too far from home. But also the campus is super pretty and I fell in love while I was on campus.
What is your intended major?
I plan on majoring in sports management.
What experiences do you feel that you’ve had, whether it be through Hamilton or through any other clubs, that you feel have prepared you for playing a sport in college?
I feel that the intense training that we went through during volleyball has prepared me well. Practicing every day during high school has definitely helped figure out what is expected in college. On top of practicing every day, balancing schoolwork and sports has encouraged me to develop study habits that work for me. I think that will for sure carry over into the next four years.
Who is your biggest inspiration in your sports endeavors or a person you would like to shout out and why?
My parents have definitely been an inspiration for me. They both encourage and push me so much. I thank them for everything they have sacrificed in order for me to pursue my dreams. I wouldn’t be where I am now without their unconditional love and support.
