Brookfield, WI–Not long after Hamilton dispatched the DSHA B-side, thoughts turned to the final game of the season, a date with Catholic Memorial on October 16th at 10am, a battle of the unbeatens.
A win against CMH will give Hamilton their first undefeated regular season in team history and will earn them one of the two coveted #1 seeds heading into the state semi-finals.
But to do this, they will have to write a new chapter in history. CMH is ranked 4th nationally in the lastest Goff Rugby rankings, and they haven’t lost to a team other than DSHA since 2010. Historically, Hamilton is 0-5 against CMH, being outscored 308-10.
But this is a new season, Hamilton is coming off back-to-back state championships in 7s rugby, and they enter the game leading the 15s league in points scored, points against, and are ahead of CMH in the standings by points differential.
For both teams, it will be a statement game. CMH are looking to retain their status as the league’s old guard and perennial powerhouse, winners of two of the last five 15s state championships. Hamilton is looking to continue their ascension, attempting to prove they are one of the nation’s best programs in just their fifth season.
In an attempt to bring out the fans, the team will also offer their first gameday giveaway. The first 200 fans in Hamilton apparel will receive a free donut from Dunkin, available at the table located near the Hamilton tent.
The game will be held at Centennial Park (N55 W29505, N55 W29505 County Hwy K, Hartland, WI 53029).
