Tyler Mirasola, currently a senior at Hamilton, has been playing football for 13 years. He recently committed to playing football for UW-La Crosse.

Mirasola’s teammate, senior Ryan Cameron , says about him, “Tyler always plays with fire and passion every time he plays. Tyler was one of the hardest hitting kids I’ve ever played with. Over the years he’s grown into a leader that the younger kids look up too. He was a huge part of our defense and was the leader of the secondary this past season. I’m excited to keep playing with Tyler in college.”

One of his current high school coaches, Coach Gumm, also says about Mirasola, “Tyler is a competitor and hates to lose.  He really led our defense and was the guy that brought confidence and swagger to that side of the ball.  Tyler is also a great teammate and treats our younger players awesome and they really look up to him.”

Football has created so many life lessons and learning points for me over the years.

What is one lesson you've learned from football?

One thing I learned from football over the years is that hard work will always pay off. Regardless of the outcome, you can lay your head at rest knowing you gave it your all.

What was the recruitment process like for you?

It was a little stressful. Difficult to decide between schools as all my options were great choices.

What is one thing that a coach has told you that you will carry into playing in college?

There is always someone out there working harder than you.

What advice do you have for younger players?

There is no atmosphere like playing high school football here at Hamilton. So cherish it while you can.

What are you most excited about next year playing for UW- La Crosse ?

Faster pace of play and harder competition.

Is there anyone you’d like to give a positive shoutout to who has been instrumental in your journey?

My dad, Joe. There have been occasions where I didn't know if I wanted to play football anymore. My dad was always there to keep me on track and motivated.
