This past January and February, Hamilton’s Synergy show choir competed in various show choir competitions across Wisconsin. The group had a very successful season, placing 4th at Milton’s Rock the Rock, 4th at Sauk Prairie, and won the best crew award at De Pere! However, no competition compared to Monona Grove, where Synergy was awarded Grand Champions!

This honor is a first in Hamilton history, making it a huge accomplishment for the team. Along with the grand champion title, the group won the best choreography award, and senior Sydney Alexander-Brown was awarded 2nd place in the solo competition among many other talented competitors!

Some seniors spoke about their experiences:

What went through your mind when the Grand Champion title was announced?

“Sheer disbelief. Hearing them call third and second place…I don’t think I breathed. It was when we all started screaming that we won that it actually set in!”
— Senior Jill Arthur
“I couldn’t believe that the announcement was real. Ever since sophomore year, it hurt to see other teams win the grand champion title, so it was the coolest feeling to know that we were ‘that’ team now.”
— Senior Cash Campbell

What makes Synergy special to you?

“Synergy has always been a home for me. The friendships, security, and motivation to improve that Synergy provides are unmatched. Synergy has made me the person I am today; I can’t imagine where I would be without it!”
— Senior Sydney Alexander-Brown

The talented group of individuals will bring their award-winning show to the stage this April in their Pop Show! The event will include many solo, duet, trio, and group performances from the Hamilton Choir department, including the Synergy set and a guest performance by the middle school show choir, Harmony.

The show will take place in the Hamilton Fine Arts Center on April 4 & 5 at 7 p.m. Get your tickets to support this amazing group of musicians; follow @hhsynergy on Instagram for upcoming ticket information!!
