How long have you played your sport, and why do you play?
I have been golfing for 5 years, but I have played competitively for 3 years. I play golf because I think it is a fun way to meet new people, spend time outside, and to have something to work toward.
Who is your athlete role model, and why?
Our captain my freshman year, Kayla Johnson is my athlete role model. She is a phenomenal golfer and was a great team leader.
What has your main goal this season been?
My main goals this season are to lower my scores from last year and to be a positive leader and role model.
What are your future plans involving golf?
I am going to play golf my senior year, but I haven't decided if I want to play in college. Regardless, I will continue to golf throughout the rest of my life!
Do you play any other sports and if so what?
I don't play any other sports, but I enjoy skiing and plan to join ski club in the winter!
Do you have any teammates, coaches, parents, or other people in your life that have helped as an athlete?
Over the years, my teammates, coaches, and parents have greatly contributed to my growth as an athlete.
Besides golf, what are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy baking, reading, lifting, and painting my nails.
What are your pregame/race/meet rituals?
I always look up the course I am playing ahead of time, warm up my putting and chipping, and hit golf balls on the range.
Do you have any pieces of advice?
It is important to not dwell on previous shots, because you can't change them, and they could snowball into something worse if you keep thinking about them. The same thing can be applied in life as well!
