Matchday 19 begins soon and so does the important title race for this year. Last year, this endgame scenario consisted of Manchester City and Arsenal, but this year, we have seen significant improvements from teams like Aston Villa who are now a championship-contending team. With many more new teams on the rise and other league giants on a decline, we look forward to seeing what the league has to offer.
The Games of the Week
West Ham (8-3-6) v Arsenal (12-3-2)
Arsenal: In a highly anticipated Premier League showdown, Arsenal and West Ham are set to clash in one of the most important derbies of the year. West Ham, despite briefly rising to the top of the league, has recently stepped back to eighth place in the Premier League due to their inconsistent form. However, their comeback success in the league has demonstrated remarkable composure and tactical strategies. Paqueta has rejuvenated his team's spirit after a hard-fought game, with his lethal defensive abilities sparking their defensive prowess. Alongside him, there is the consistency of Bowen and his seamless addition of goal-scoring consistency, as they have been the creative force behind their victories. On the other side, Arsenal's season has been an even stronger tale. While they have enjoyed success in the Champions League and the Premier League, they find themselves in first place in the standings. The likes of Odeggard and other key players have given them a step above other teams. While they lead, Man City should come out on top.
Aston Villa (12-2-3) v Manchester United (9-1-7)
Manchester United: Aston Villa will host Manchester United this weekend in a monumental Premier League clash. While Manchester United look to bounce back from their tie to Liverpool, they can celebrate their defensive strength. After a very promising defensive effort by Erik Ten Hag’s team, the offense looks to find their goal-scoring spark. With world-class players like Rashford and McTominay finding their spot in their team, this team looks unstoppable. Although their record doesn't reflect this prowess, they have been playing better recently and getting ties with one of the best teams in the league. Bruno Fernandes continues to step into his role as a captain and captivates his team as a player. On the other hand, Aston Villa has been an unexpectedly victorious team. They have continued to show promise as a young team. However, they are unable to find the back of the net on many of their shots and attempts. Relying on players like Ing and Coutinho, they can hope for a goal-scoring frenzy, but these players have been under-performing. Aston Villa’s defense has kept them in this title race, and it shouldn’t be any different this game. Due to Ten Hag’s tactical masterclass, we can expect that Manchester United claim a vital 3 points this matchday.
