Mr. Jacob Doyle has recently joined the Hamilton Administration Staff as one of our new associate principals. He has been in education for eight years and is now very excited to be stepping into a new job where he can make a positive impact on students, teachers, and Hamilton High School. Below is a list of questions that Mr. Doyle has answered in order to help people at the school get to know him better and share his goals stepping into his new role here at Hamilton. Please welcome Mr. Doyle as Hamilton’s newest Associate Principal!

Can you describe your history in Education?

I have been in education for 8 years and am looking forward to continuing making a positive impact on students and teachers. I received my Master’s degree from DePaul University in Chicago and my administrator’s license through Carroll University.

What other educational jobs have you had and where have you worked?

I taught in Northern Illinois for a few years working as a 5th grade teacher. After that I moved to Wisconsin where I taught middle school Math for the past four years in the Elmbrook School District. Although I taught Math, my favorite subjects growing up were actually Science and Social Studies.

How did you know you wanted to go into education?

At a young age I had teachers who were great role models and made school feel enjoyable every day! Specifically, my Biology teacher was someone who could make students laugh, banter, and support them in all aspects. I too then wanted to help students find their purpose in school.

Can you describe your current role here and what you do?

The role here is dependent on the day, which has been unique from being in the classroom. One day may consist of many meetings, the next may be working with students and addressing certain issues or situations. One thing I can predict for certain each day is that I will be working and communicating with both students and teachers on a daily basis.

What are some of the reasons why you wanted to come work at Hamilton? What are some of your favorite things about Hamilton?

I knew Hamilton is a place where teachers are passionate about their role and want their students to succeed. Being around a group of people who want what’s best for kids is infectious to be a part of! My favorite part so far is the energy within the school - that makes it so easy to come to work.

What made you know that you wanted to be Associate Principal at Hamilton?

I have really enjoyed being in the classroom to build positive relationships with students and support colleagues. I knew this role would allow me to continue building relationships with teachers and create trust.

What are you most excited about stepping into your new role? What are you most apprehensive about?

I am looking forward to getting to know the students in our school. That was one of the best parts of being in the classroom. I know there are still students unsure of who I am, so I’m excited to continue meeting many others. I don’t have a specific topic I am apprehensive about, but there will be new challenges each day and I will appreciate having great teams in the building to proactively find solutions.

What are your goals for Hamilton as Associate Principal?

  • Work with teachers to feel acknowledged and supported.

  • Support best practices in the classroom.

  • Form strong relationships with students and staff members.

  • Help students find their purpose towards future endeavors.

  • Promote student engagement and encourage students to join clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities.

What are some things you like to do in your free time

I really enjoy getting outside and being active. Sports are a big passion of mine, whether it's playing or watching! I am looking forward to attending many of our sporting and club events throughout the year!
