Are you getting settled into the new school year and looking for new clubs to join? Join Book Bungalow! Book Bungalow is the perfect club for book lovers and aspiring leaders.
What is Book Bungalow?
Book Bungalow is an after-school enrichment activity for the 5th and 6th graders at SSI. Every week, book discussions and enrichment activities are planned and initiated by us, the high school student leaders, helping SSI students develop sustainable reading habits and grow as readers. Our goal is to cultivate a passion for reading among young students and create a fun and supportive environment.
What do we do?
Leaders meet every Wednesday after school. We go to SSI from 3:00-4:30 every other Wednesday, and meet as a high school team every other Wednesday from 2:30-3:30. At the planning meetings, you and your partner will plan reading comprehension activities for the SSI kids. Then, at the SSI meetings, you run a six kid book club with icebreakers, reading games, read-alouds, and more!

Senior and four-year member, Grace Xue, states “Book Bungalow is perfect for anyone who loves working with kids. I love being able to help them improve their reading skills and make reading an enjoyable experience. We also play lots of games and have food parties, so join Book Bungalow for a fun time!”
By joining Book Bungalow, you'll gain valuable leadership experience, develop your communication and organizational skills, and make a positive impact on younger students' lives. You can also build lasting friendships with like-minded peers and enhance your college applications with a meaningful extracurricular activity.

Sign up here! Sign-ups are due October 4th, and the first student leader meeting will be Wednesday, October 16th.
