Watching sports is different from watching any other sort of televised program. The elements of sports are derived from many factors including authenticity, athleticism, intelligence, and morals. The word moral (concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human behavior) is what can be taken out of sports. Athleticism and talent is what is possessed within an individual through years of countless experience and hard work, but morals? Morals are what shapes a human being, so how can it affect ourselves from us playing sports?

A big aspect of some sports is teamwork. Through sports, we make good associations and bad associations. From communicating with bad intent to becoming best friends, we all have some sort of way to manage these relationships of ours. A part of morals is how we deal and manage our relationships. Managing and dealing with relationships is a huge element of sports. How can you win a game if you haven’t won a relationship with your teammates?

When putting relationships aside, we have the actual sport itself. Sports not only teaches you experience, but it teaches you how to lose. Losing and failing is a huge part of life, but sports teaches you how to react to failure that other circumstances may not. Eventually through loss and adversity, you will reach the top. Winning will give you the feeling of being a champion. Not only does that feeling give you a satisfactory relief, but you share that feeling with your teammates, family, and possibly your community. How we react to certain situations can show a lot about a person's morals.

How does basketball specifically teach you morals? Most of you may know that you have positions in basketball like in many other sports. In basketball, players are to execute plays in a timely manner and you are expected to score on defenses most of the time. To do this, teams need a high amount of chemistry and good relationships between staff.

Sports are an important part of American civilization. Not only does it bring together communities and occasionally get you injured, it teaches you morals which are necessary to becoming a good human being.

Hello basketball fans and welcome back to another weekly update article! With this week's sensational and action packed news, we have more all-star news, drama regarding the Heat, and we will end this segment with the must see games. Without further ado, let's dive in!

All-Star News!

The most exciting time of the year (besides Christmas) has always been the All-Star games for me, but these games are weeks away. Although we may have to wait quite a bit of time, we received some news regarding the All-Star starters! The NBA is organized into two conferences. The East and the West, both selected their most talented players into a 5 slot pool. When looking at the selections, there is no surprise to me on why these players are in the category that is presented.

East Pool: Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum

East Captain: Giannis Antetokounmpo

West Pool: Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Zion Williamson

West Captain: LeBron James

Heat Drama!

The NBA today announced the Miami Heat has been fined $25,000 for failing to comply with league policies governing injury reporting. Fines have been part of the league for a long time now. Players such as Kyrie Irving and even Allen Iverson have received huge amounts of fines just because they can’t keep their mouth shut. Fines affect NBA teams tremendously. The NBA is a very systematic based league. It follows protocol procedures, injury procedures followed along with an extremely hectic 82 game season. I think it is safe to say that in order to win an NBA championship, teams have to run their franchise close to perfection. The Heat have enough talent, potential and a very good coaching staff to win a championship. They better watch out!
