Mr. Jeffrey Newcomer is a UW-Whitewater alumni, the father of three kids, and a sports lover through and through. Before coming to Hamilton, Mr. Newcomer taught at both Bradley University and Washington University in St. Louis. He also served as the Athletics and Activity Director at Monroe High School for eight and a half years. When he’s not involved in athletics one way or another, he loves spending time with his family and doing DIY projects around the house.

Read on to learn more about Hamilton’s new AD!

What inspired you to enter into education?

I had such a great experience in HS athletics and knowing the impact it had on me I want to make sure others have the same experience.

What are you most excited about stepping into your new role?

Working with the coaches and community, providing life-long memories, and getting to know the students and providing them with opportunities outside of the classroom.

What are you most apprehensive about in your new role?

Getting lost in the building.

What are you planning to do as your first steps in your new role?

Learn names!  Building relationships is very important to me.

What are your goals for Hamilton as Athletics/Activity Director?

100% participation!

What is your favorite sport to play/watch?

I love baseball, I played it in college.  Now, I enjoy watching NFL football.

What clubs were you involved with in high school?

I was a three-sport athlete in HS: Football, basketball, and baseball.

What would students be surprised to know about you?

I was almost drafted by the Boston Red Sox.

What’s your claim to fame?

Won the 2005 NCAA D.3 College World Series in baseball at UW-Whitewater.

What is the best advice you have received?

“It’s like eating an elephant, one bite at a time.”

What Crayola Crayon color are you? (The more specific the better!)

I took a quiz; I am “Shamrock.”

Are there more wheels or more doors in the world?

That's a good one.  I can appeal to both but my first reaction would be to say wheels.  My thought process is that wheels refer to moving, being active, being a go getter.
