Donate Your Formal Dresses!
This week of May 30-June 2, Sussex Hamilton will be hosting a dress drive in partnership with Dress Campaign, Inc. The purpose of Dress Campaign is to provide lightly worn formal dresses and repurpose them so that girls who might not otherwise have the opportunity to have a new dance dress will be able to pick one out at no cost and have their own dress for their special night.
The goal of this drive is to collect lightly worn homecoming, prom, and winter formal dance dresses this spring in order to repurpose and redistribute them to high schools in Grant County in fall of 2023.
Many of us are fortunate enough to be able to have a new dress for every dance or formal event that we attend. However, there are many girls in Wisconsin who do not have this privilege. On average, dance dresses are only worn for about six hours but can cost hundreds of dollars. If you have any lightly used formal dance dresses, you should greatly consider donating to make an impact on other girls our age.
Even one dress donated makes a difference, and if every girl at Hamilton donates one dress we would have dozens of dresses, which is also dozens of dresses out of landfills, dozens of second chances, and dozens of girls who are able to have a dress to call their own. This is an amazing opportunity to help keep these dresses out of landfills and into the hands of girls who would love to wear them.
Please bring your donated dresses to the dress rack located outside the Main Office or to room E-174 (Mrs. Kowalske’s classroom).
