As high school lacrosse enters the playoffs, our seniors are left feeling a multitude of different emotions with their final season ending. Hamilton’s girls lacrosse’s final record for the regular 2023 season is 6-9-1 with both conference and non-conference opponents. To learn more about the rules to lacrosse, check out this article.
Here, we’ll be highlighting the four seniors who have played lacrosse at Hamilton High School, all since their freshman year, despite it being cut short from COVID-19.
Allison Gierach
Allison Gierach plays primarily defense on the field, but since her freshman year she’s been on both offense and defensive positions. Unfortunately, Allison has been out for the last few games due to a knee injury, but is the most supportive teammate off the field and doing what she can to help.
Allison is going to UW-Eau Claire in the fall and majoring in nursing.
Sophia Chaney
Sophia Chaney plays strictly defense in the game, but sometimes we move her up to offensive positions for fun when we get a lead in the game. She’s always bruised up, but shuts down anything that comes near our goalie.
Sophia is going to UW-Milwaukee in the fall and majoring in biomedical sciences and medical imaging.
Emmie Corbin
Emmie Corbin is seen everywhere on the field. Although she most likely will be playing an offensive position in the game, we sometimes move her to defense. Even though Emmie took a year off her junior year, she is always ready for game days.
Emmie is going to UW-Madison in the fall and double majoring in anthropology and sociology. She also is in the UW Global Launch program and will be studying abroad her freshman year in London.
Ella Hutton
Ella Hutton plays strictly defense as well, but we see her sometimes run the ball up the field to score when she’s feeling risky. Ella stops the ball left and right and is great support on and off the field.
Ella is going to UW-Milwaukee this fall and will be majoring in global studies.
Good luck to all our seniors next year! You’ll be missed!
