April 2 Referendum Election: Vote!

The Hamilton School District has proposed two referendums for the community for the upcoming April 2 election. The two referendums are as follows:
The $7.6 million referendum includes the following maintenance expenses:
Heating schools
Maintaining academic programs
Class sizes
Course offerings
Staffing levels
Updating aged systems (HVAC, fire alarms, roofs, and installing air conditioning at Willow Springs)
The $25 million facilities referendum includes the following infrastructure costs:
Building a Hamilton High School cafeteria expansion
Renovating the Applied Engineering and Technology, science, and art classrooms at Hamilton
Renovating/expanding the Templeton Middle School cafeteria
Building an addition to Lannon Elementary School
Reconfiguring drop-off areas at Marcy, Maple Avenue, and Lannon Elementary School

If you are eligible to vote, vote. To all of the 18-year-old seniors who are eligible to vote: remember that you are part of the community and your opinion matters. Your input is of the greatest importance because you attended Hamilton and/or the elementary/middle schools. You know how these expenses will affect the schools; after all, you spent years using their infrastructure and facilities. Even if it seems as if this will not affect you, thousands of students and members of the community will be impacted after you leave. Young voters tend to believe that their vote won’t matter, but in this local Hamilton School District election, your vote is significant! Vote on April 2.
